Vahid Jalilvand (1976) is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, actor, and film editor. His first directed film, Wednesday, May 9, has received massive admiration from multiple national and international film festivals. He received Fipersci Award in Best Film Horizons from 72nd Venice International Film Festival for this film. Jalilvand had further success with his next film No Date, No Signature. The film earned Jalilvand and his actor, Orizzonti Awards of 74th Venice International Film Festival for best director and best actor.
All four main actors are in top form, but it’s Mohammadzadeh who steals the show in his scene at the poultry plant, when his desperate monologue takes on an epic, Shakespearean quality as he throws all his physical force into a verbal storm of pained outrage.
