Dalibor Matanić was born in 1975 in Croatia. He graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, simultaneously collaborating as an assistant director on the projects of Zoran Tadić and Zrinko Ogresta. His first feature, Cashier Wants to Go to the Seaside, screened at various festivals with great success, and received multiple awards at the Pula Film Festival. He also always collaborates as a screenwriter on all of his projects.
Matanić’s intention to critically address not only the conservatism and hypocrisy of the Church, but also the so-called radical atheism and to offer a solution in cooperation of the opposite sides is clearly visible.
