Greta Gerwig is an actress, playwright, screenwriter, and director. She graduated from Barnard College in NY, where she studied English and philosophy. Originally intending to become a playwright, after meeting young film director Joe Swanberg, she appeared in many of his films, and personally co-directed, co-wrote and co-produced several titles. She has worked with directors such as Ti West, Whit Stillman or Woody Allen, but success did not come until Frances Ha (2012), directed by Noah Baumbach, a film she also co-wrote. Lady Bird is her directorial debut.
A heartfelt coming-of-age story that perfectly captures the bittersweet transition from adolescence to dawning adulthood...
