At the beginning of the 20th century on the island of La Réunion, five adolescents of good family, enamored with the occult, commit a savage crime. A Dutch Captain takes them in charge for a repressive cruise on a haunted, dilapidated sailboat. Exhausted by the methods of the Captain, the five boys prepare to mutiny. Their port of call is a supernatural island with luxuriant vegetation and bewitching powers.

Bertrand Mandico is a writer and director, known for his awarded short films Prehistoric Cabaret (2014), Living Still Life (2012) and Souvenirs d’un montreur de seins (2014).
The Wild Boys is his feature film debut.
Mandico has succeeded in translating his radical, poisonous and lustfully voyeuristic world into a feature-length format, not only in terms of the aesthetics of experimental cinema, but also the dialogue on where gender bending ends and equality begins. It’s a subtle example of edgy political cinema in today’s mellow dullness.
